The Department of Safety appoints the Town of New Durham a boat registration agent each year. The State of New Hampshire mails to all boat owner a renewal boat registration form in December. This form is what you bring in to renew your boat. Without that form you must bring in your old registration or a bill of sale, if a new boat. Boat registrations expire on December 31st of each year. You are encouraged to do new or renewal registrations at this office or any New Durham boat agent. Taxes collected through the boat registration process in New Durham will stay in New Durham to help defray property taxes. Exemptions from registrations Sailboats under 12 feet in length, rowboats and canoes without motors and vessels registered in another state that are temporarily using NH waters for not more than 30 days, do not need to be registered.
