Mission Statement
“The Mission of the New Durham Highway Department is to maintain the infrastructure
of the Town in a safe and economical manner and to attain the
highest resident satisfaction possible.”
Operations
The Highway Department is responsible for administering all 60 miles of road surface and related construction. We also provide general maintenance work, ground maintenance, overseers of Dams, and Town Cemeteries.
Our Department consists of 7 fulltime members of staff and 1 seasonal employee and 1 Part Time Office Administrator. Performance of duties consists of:~
Seasonal Plowing and sanding
Mowing ~ Ball field, lawns at town facilities, and roadsides
Paving
Cold Patching
Road Sign Maintenance
Grading
Drainage Installation & Maintenance
Any other duties of a related nature generic to the Department
