The New Durham Police Department receives many calls regarding loose dogs. If a dog is found without a tag, we will usually keep the dog housed at the kennel at the Police Department until late afternoon. This gives the owner a chance to call and locate the animal without having to travel to Dover to the Cocheco Valley Humane Society.
