Mission Statement
"Under RSA 165 whenever a person in any town is poor and unable to support himself, he shall be maintained by the overseers of public welfare of such town, wether or not he has residence there."
We provide assistance to individuals, families and households who lack adequate resources to meet their basic needs.
We are facilitators in that we direct those in need to relief agencies, i.e. federal, state, non-profit, etc.
therefore reducing the burden on our department budget and the New Durham tax payers.
We strive to promote self reliance, independence and self sufficiency.
