Process for Filling Vacant Budget Committee Position.
An overview of how the Budget Committee will fill a Budget Committee vacancy is as follows.

At the March 8, 2022 Town Annual Election, two members of the Budget Committee were Elected to the Select Board, leaving two vacancies on the Budget Committee. As of March 16, 2022, The Budget Committee and Town Administrator Zoltko initiated the process for filling those vacancies. Any resident of New Durham interested in serving on the New Durham Budget Committee should submit a letter of interest and a completed “New Durham Talent Bank Application” no later than March 31, 2022 at 12:00pm to the Town Administrator. To be considered for the vacancy, Letters of Interest and the Talent Bank Application  must be sent to the New Durham Town Administrator via email or via mail at New Durham Town Administrator, P.O. Box 207, New Durham, NH 03855 and please mark the envelop Budget Committee Vacancy.

All letters received will be submitted to the Budget Committee for review. Interested Residents will then be invited to a Public Review which will be conducted by the Budget Committee on April 4, 2022 at 7:00pm at the Town Hall, 4 Main Street, New Durham. The Budget Committee Chair may allow questions from those in attendance but under very strict Chair direction. Following that interview process, the Budget Committee will make the decision whether to fill the vacancies or to extend the search process. It is the Budget Committee’s responsibility to make the decision on filling the vacancy.

The process of filling the Vacancies follows RSA 32 Municipal Budget Law Budget Committee Section 32:15 VII. “In municipalities where members-at-large are elected, vacancies shall be filled by appointment by the budget committee. Persons appointed to fill vacancies shall serve until the next annual meeting at which time a successor shall be elected or appointed to either fill the unexpired term or start a new term, as the case may be.”
